Trading Management Trainee / Assistant Trade Manager Heidelberg Materials Trading is the international trading arm of the Heidelberg Materials Group, handling overseas dry-bulk products exports and imports.

Requirements • Excellent command of both English and Chinese (minimum C1 level): IELTS score of 7.5 or higher is preferred. • An interest in a long-term career in international business and commodity trading. • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business management, engineering, economics, international trade, foreign trade, or a related field. • 0-3 years of experience in commodity trading, shipping, logistics, or a related field.

The level and title of the position (MT/ATM) offered will be determined based on the overall work experience. • Willingness to travel extensively to West and North Africa and ability to work flexibly and coordinate across multiple zones. • Proficient in MS Excel (including advanced formulas and reporting) and MS Word. • Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce) is an advantage. • Proficiency in utilizing AI tools, including agentic AI, to support analysis and decision-making is a plus. • Proven experience managing internal and external stakeholders through professional work and projects, with a demonstrated track record of being proactive, adaptable, and results-driven. • High-achieving, task-oriented professional who thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments and adapts effectively to changing priorities. • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong numerical and analytical skills and the ability to make informed decisions in situations with limited information or ambiguity. • Collaborative team player and effective communicator, capable of influencing stakeholders and decision-makers through data-driven insights and factual reasoning.

For our Heidelberg office, we are looking for a highly talented individual as a; Responsibilities • Support the Trading department with day-to-day commercial and operational activities such as deal operations, deal structuring activities, freight rate analysis, internal approvals, offer preparation, and market research. • Liaise with suppliers, buyers, freight providers, and internal stakeholders across different time zones. • Monitor deal pipelines and maintain accurate records within CRM systems. • Assist with contract administration, documentation processes, and compliance checks. • Support invoicing activities and assist in resolving operational issues. • Work closely with Shipping and Trade Operations departments to ensure smooth execution of transactions. • Research and analyse customs, trade, and market data. • Analyse new business opportunities and market developments.
